FAQ

ASSEMBLY

The whole school will assemble in the gym each Wednesday afternoon at 2.45pm for the National Anthem and School Promise followed by general notices and recognition of achievements.

BANK

All children are given the opportunity to have a school bank account through the Commonwealth Bank. Application forms for new accounts are available from the front office

BELL TIMES

The usual bell times are:

8:50 Children allowed into classrooms.

9:00 Learning session

10:50 Eating Time – Snack in school

11:00 Recess

11:30 Learning session

1:30 Eating Time - Lunch in school

1:40 Lunch Recess

2:30 Learning session

3:15 DISMISSAL

BOOKLISTS

Each year the School Council approves the system for providing individual and class requisites for use in school programs. This is known generally as the Booklist.

Student requisites are ordered on behalf of all students and parents then pay for and collect the booklist items prior to the start of the school year. The individual student packs include such stationery items as exercise books, jotters and folders, pencils, pens and markers etc.

CANTEEN

The Canteen will be managed under the direction of a Canteen Manager. Lunches will be provided every day.

DRESS CODE

Students are expected to wear the red and green school uniform for all school activities except for nominated casual dress days, or for camps and some excursions.  The school's uniform policy is located on this website under "Publications".

GRADUATION

Year 6 children participate in a Graduation function at the end of the school year to celebrate the conclusion of their primary schooling.

HOUSE TEAMS

There are four house teams to which children are assigned when they are enrolled. Senior students are elected to positions of responsibility such as House Captains and Vice Captains.

LIBRARY

The school Library is a resource for all classes but is not managed by a school Librarian and is often used for other purposes. Children are able to borrow from one book to two books depending on their grade level, and are not permitted to exceed the set limit.

NETBOOKS / iPads

All students in Years 5 - 6 are able to lease a Netbook (small laptop) computer to use both at school and at home.

In 2014 a Bring Your Own Device, iPad (BYOD) program has commenced for all Year 4 students.

Each Year 3 student has an iPad for class work. These iPads remain at school.

Year 1 and Year 2 students have individual XO notebooks, for use during classtime.

Our Prep classes have access to iPads for in class

NEWSLETTER

A whole school Newsletter is published on Thursday each fortnight. It is available to the school community via email, our website and on the school app.

Level Newsletters are published on the alternate fortnight. These Newsletters are sent home with the students.

NO HAT, NO PLAY’

The school follows guidelines relating to the wearing a suitable wide brimmed hat for all outside activities during the hotter months of the year.

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE (OSHC)

An Out of School Hours Care service operates before and after school and is run by Camp Australia.

PROGRAM for STUDENTS with DISABILITIES (PSD)

Children who have disabilities and special needs may be eligible for, and receive, special funding through this DEECD program.

READING RECOVERY

Children in Year 1 will have been assessed in reading at the end of their Prep year and the children most in need will be enrolled in the program.

SPECIAL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTIONS (SRI)

The school offers Religious Education lessons from Year 1 to 6 if parents have indicated that they wish their children to participate in the program. These sessions are conducted by authorised instructors provided by the Council for Christian Education in Schools.

SPECIALIST PROGRAMS

Specialist programs include Art, Physical Education (PE) and Music / Performing Arts on a weekly basis for all classes.
